ODES TO ESCTASY

ODES OF ECSTASY were formed in November 1993 and two years later, in December 1995, they released their first promo which featured only one song called “Theogony”. In 1996 the band released a 5 song promo with the title “Atheistic Emotions”. The specific release was announced as the “promo of the month” from the Greek Metal Hammer magazine. In 1997 again they released a single song promo entitled “Words of Insanity” which gave them the opportunity to sign with the American records label, The End Records.
Through the contract with The End Records, Odes Of Ecstasy released their two official albums entitled “Embossed Dream in Four Acts” (1998) and “Deceitful Melody” (2000) respectively The sound of these two releases was Death Metal which was characterized by brutal male, operatic female vocals and many influences from classical music.
After that, the band came to a standstill for several years due to many line-up changes, caused mainly by the obligatory military service of some of the band’s members.
In 2004 the band formed again with a new line - up and a different musical orientation and in 2006 they released a self-title promo mini CD which was including 5 tracks of Modern Death Metal. The specific promo received some very positive comments from the electronic press and it was air played in several radio stations in Greece and Europe. It is noteworthy that when the Spain based Noise Hour radio show, posted its top 40 for the month May, the track “Threatback”, from that Promo, reached the 16th place among other well known bands of the international metal scene.
Finally, in October of 2007 Odes Of Ecstasy finished the production of their self – title third full length CD, a procedure which lasted for more than a year. This CD features also tracks from the promo CD released in 2006, with much better production and arrangements
For the moment, the band is planning several live shows in Greece, and is in search for a records label for a worldwide distribution and promotion of its latest work
