MELDRUM is an international, hard rock metal band that toured worldwide with Lemmy Kilmister's Motörhead, Zakk Wylde's Black Label Society, Sepultura, Danzig, Nashville Pussy, and have shared the stage with many more. Touting a combination of mammoth vocal styles with aggressively melodic vocals, mind bending guitar riffs, and a rhythm section that creates fiercely bombastic grooves, is what gives MELDRUM their unique, cutting edge sound.
Featuring a new lineup in 2008, their new members include metal vocalist Michele Madden (Tourettes) and Laura Christine (Warface, Damnation) on bass guitar.
Michelle Meldrum, raised by parents in the entertainment business, began her career when she and drummer, Gene Hoglan, started their first band Wargod. Gene went on to notoriety with Death, Dark Angel, Testament and Strapping Young Lad, while Michelle founded Phantom Blue (on Shrapnel, Roadrunner, and Geffen Records). While her career flourished, she moved to Sweden to form MELDRUM. After many successful tours, she reunited with Gene in 2006 when he appeared as a guest on MELDRUM album and events. Inspired to once again collaborate, Michelle moved back to America where they began writing the next MELDRUM album together. Gene also appears in Dethklok, the band for the animated cartoon Metalocalypse that airs on Nickelodeon's Adult Swim.
Enter Michele Madden: amazonian goddess and lyricist/vocalist of Australian band, Tourettes. Receiving much attention through the media for her uniquely unsurpassed vocal stylings, she performed at European festivals Wacken Open Air and Big Day Out, and as a guest on Strapping Young Lad's album Alien.
Meldrum then recruited Laura Christine of Warface, who rose to the challenge by expanding her repertoire from guitar to bass. With Warface, she has received recognition through Pit Magazine and Metal Maniacs. Her contribution of low end bass frequencies help round out MELDRUM's new sound.
With that, the new tracks MELDRUM will unveil now trump anything previously unleashed from an already potent venture. Keep checking back, there is much more news to come from this amazing team of players who have proven to confront and prevail over any obstacle triumphantly.
2005-2007: MELDRUM toured with Motörhead, Zakk Wylde's Black Label Society, Sepultura, Danzig, Nashville Pussy, appearing in sold out venues across North America, Europe and Scandinavia.
2007: MELDRUM released their first CD Blowin Up The Machine in Europe on Frontiers Records (Warner Bros), and in North America on Locomotove Records (Warner Bros). Produced by Toby Wright (Slayer, Metallica, Korn, Soulfly, Fear Factory, Alice In Chains) it featured guest appearances by both Lemmy Kilmister (Motörhead) and Gene Hoglan (Death, Strapping Young Lad).
2008: MELDRUM are writing and recording in the studio for their new release in 2008. Their music will appear on television and movies, including coverage on MTV.
