Biography (deutsch) Gothic metal can be so bright! Coronatus demonstrate it with their not less than two front ladies. The music is very melodious, but includes at the same time very rhythmic guitar riffs which give the music the necessary heaviness. That the ladies furthermore feature totally different voice types, makes Coronatus absolutely unique.
Originally, Coronatus were founded by drummer Mats Kurth (e.g. drummer of Illuminate). At the turn of the year 2004/2005 the line-up of Coronatus was complete. With the two front ladies (primarily Carmen R. Schaefer from Illuminate, guest singer for Brainstorm etc.) at the end of 2005 the demo "My Rose Desire" was recorded and published in the November issue of the Hungarian Hammer magazine, which took the band for several concerts to Hungary, e.g. the Gothica V. -festival with Haggard and Moonsorrow in Budapest.
Consequently, in 2006 the band worked on the album "Lux Noctis". The songs include lyrics in German, English and Latin. It was recorded and mixed in the Klangschmiede Studio E by Markus Stock and Tobias Schoenemann, the producers of The Vision Bleak. In order to put the cherry on the cake, in October 2006 the album was mastered in the Finnvox studios in Helsinki by Mika Jussila (Nightwish, Children of Bodom etc.). For the making of the artwork Katja Piolka (Primal Fear, Sinner, Elis etc.) could be won.
In Massacre Records Coronatus have found a suitable lable now. After the release of "Lux Noctis" on 21st September 2007 the band intends to play lots of concerts in order to promote the album appropriately.
